Helping Our Community Heal

Community is Universal

In January, the larger Los Angeles community suffered a major tragedy when fires ravaged the Los Angeles area. From the Palisades to Altadena, the level of loss has touched many of us, including the Comcast NBCUniversal family.

Comcast NBCUniversal moved quickly to support fire relief by donating $10 million, including a $2.5 million cornerstone gift as an inaugural corporate partner to the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles' and San Gabriel Valley's ReBUILD LA initiative. Additional contributions were made to organizations on the ground including the American Red Cross, Entertainment Industry Foundation SoCal Fire Fund, LA Regional Food Bank, and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, among others.

Hundreds of employees also stepped in and participated in relief efforts, including assembling fire-relief cleanup kits distributed at disaster response sites and partnering with City Year to paint murals at Odyssey Charter School in Altadena, where one of their two locations was lost to the fires.

As our community continues to heal, we remain grateful to our first responders. We recognize we have a long road ahead and are committed to working with our partners to support ongoing relief efforts.
