Over the years, NBCUniversal has invested $1 billion in new studio production facilities, theme park attractions, corporate offices, campus upgrades, parking, and major street and freeway improvements. These investments have fueled the growth of our studio and theme park businesses, strengthened the local economy, and enhanced traffic flow, all while supporting and protecting the communities we call home.
As part of the approval process a thorough package of construction mitigations were designed with additional, community-requested mitigations added during both the City and County hearing process. The NBCUniversal Evolution Plan is a blueprint for our 391-acre Universal City property that received unanimous approval from both the City and County of Los Angeles. The plan includes upgrades and improvements to our production and post-production facilities, a revitalized entertainment destination, and modern office space without expanding the current property.
These advancements will secure our place as one of the world’s largest working studios, keeping high—paying production jobs in Los Angeles, while making significant investments and adding tax revenue to our local economy.
