Roadway Investments
NBCUniversal has made significant roadway improvements in the communities around our property. We take traffic congestion seriously and remain committed to helping improve traffic flow in and around our campus.
As part of this proactive approach, we developed a Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Plan, which was approved by the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) prior to the opening of our new immersive theme park land in 2016.

Cahuenga Pass
Completed a voluntary traffic management plan for Cahuenga Pass with recommendations to improve signage, intersections, and overall traffic flow and safety.
Lankershim Blvd.
Developed and implemented Neighborhood Traffic Management Plans for three neighborhoods along Lankershim Blvd., including improved signage on Landale St., sightline and curb improvements at Alley & Landale St., and crosswalk enhancements at Lankershim Blvd. & Riverside Dr. and Lankershim Blvd. & Moorpark St.
Universal Studios Blvd. / US 101 Southbound
A new southbound on-ramp at Universal Studios Blvd. to directly connect our employees and guests to the US 101 Southbound.
Regal Pl. / Lankershim Blvd.
US 101 Southbound on-ramp at Universal Studios Blvd. was widened and extended order to provide additional storage capacity on the ramp and help alleviate congestion along Lankershim Blvd. Additionally, added a right turn lane onto on-ramp.
Bennet Dr. / Cahuenga Blvd. West
Keep Clear and Do Not Block intersection signs installed.
Barham Blvd. / Blair Dr.
Dedicated left turn lane at Blair Dr. & Barham Blvd. and “Keep Clear” stamp added to the intersection to improve access.
Cahuenga Blvd. / Lakeridge Pl.
Pulled striping and relocated stop sign to improve traffic flow and safety.
Tram Service from Red Line to Hilltop
Enhanced service with increased route frequency.
Cahuenga Blvd. West / Barham Blvd.
Modified signal and improved signage for pedestrian safety and traffic flow.
Cahuenga Blvd. East / Barham Blvd.
Dedicated right turn lane from Barham Blvd. to Cahuenga Blvd. East and dedicated westbound and left turn lane onto Barham Blvd. South; Future relocation of freeway signage.
Lankershim Blvd.
Partnered with Metro on the pedestrian bridge to help ease congestion on Lankershim Blvd. and increase safety.
Bicycle Trust Fund
$10M to create a bike lane along the LA River without break.
134/101/170 Interchange
Funded plans for freeway interchange improvements, that are awaiting Caltrans final review so Caltrans can seek funding.
LADOT Traffic Officers
Funded traffic officers at key locations during special events.
Campo de Cahuenga Way / Universal Hollywood Dr.
Restriped Lankershim Blvd. to add an eastbound left-turn lane and right-turn signal equipment to improve southbound flow. Universal Hollywood Dr. was widened at the intersection to add a westbound left-turn lane, with protected left-turn signals to improve east-west traffic phasing.
